About
The orbita community
orbita is an open community for people who live or spend time differently — in tiny houses, vans, boats, yurts, earthships, converted buses, and shelters they built themselves. We map where we are, share what we know, and connect with each other.
Anyone can join. Pin yourself on the Orbiter Map, share your dwelling and capabilities, and find like-minded people nearby.
The Orbita™ microshelter
Orbita™ is a freestyle, modular, self-sufficient microshelter designed for a world in motion. It follows an open interoperability protocol that defines how structural, electrical, and digital components connect — so anyone can modify, adapt, or improve the design.
It can be fabricated in a fab lab, assembled without specialized tools, and adapted to different climates and needs. The protocol ensures that parts made by different people in different places still work together.
The Team
Orbita is a Beach Lab project. We work at the intersection of digital fabrication, open-source hardware, and sustainable design.
